Thank you for your interest in working at Lemos Feed and Pet Supply. We are a locally owned and operated feed and pet supply retail company here on the Central Coast with over 50 years in business.
We value honesty, hard work, and respect for others. We are a small business, and we believe, should you join our team, you’ll find it to be a unique and rewarding experience.
Hours:
- Our store hours are Monday – Friday 9:00am-6:00pm, Saturday 9:00am-5:00pm and Sunday 10:00am-5:00pm. Opening shifts begin 10 minutes ahead of store opening time. Closing shifts stay approximately 30 minutes past the closing hour. Plan to work either shift, many times open to close.
- Full-time positions bring 35-40 hours per week. You must have an open schedule, including Saturday and Sunday, for full-time employment. You will be scheduled 5 days with consecutive days off whenever possible.
- Part-time positions are 10-28 hours per week and available at some locations depending on the needs of the location. Your availability and the needs of the store will determine how many hours you get each week.
Experience:
- Time in the pet industry is helpful, but not required. We’ll take a good attitude over knowledge any day; we will train you the “Lemos way” of doing business.
- You MUST be a people person to work in our retail stores. A genuine enjoyment of a wide variety of personality types, an interest in people’s stories, and personal satisfaction from a conversation that helps someone is a great place to start.
Expectations:
- You must be able to lift, carry and load up to 50 pounds on a consistent basis – there are no exceptions.
- Being on time is the first step to serving your team and our customers in a prompt and courteous way.
- We must be able to count on you. You will be counting on us for a safe and dependable work environment, training, and paychecks that cash every week. We have to be able to count on you to be on time and work your scheduled shifts.
- Interpersonal Skills. We are in the retail business; you will be interacting with lots of different people on a daily basis. You must be a people person (see above), much of the job is assisting customers in making decisions about products for their pets, big and small.
- Quick learner. Most of your training will happen on the retail floor with a store manager or assistant manager. This happens during business hours and things do get busy. You will be learning in a fast-paced environment with all sorts of unpredictable things happening all around you. The ability to stay focused and learn fast will ensure you succeed at Lemos.
- Attention to detail. We run clean, high-volume stores. To be a successful part of our team you will learn that the details of every task are important, and our stores are expected to be “show room” quality at all times. From counting inventory to cleaning shelves – it’s all important to be done right.
